There's still discussion ongoing about exactly how we should schedule upcoming freezes and releases, so there is still plenty of time for things to change here. To be honest, I don't think that shorter release cycles or targeted freeze times are likely to give us too many problems. In fact, I'm a firm believer that fixing the freeze times will give us some benefit: if developers and users have more warning of when freezes are going to happen, they can plan better.
